    Designed and manufactured by Gill Instruments in the UK, WindSonic ultrasonic anemometers accurately and reliably measure wind speed and direction.

    Cost, quality and performance requirements are met by WindSonic in demanding applications where robust construction and low maintenance requirements suit applications in harsh weather conditions or remote locations. WindSonic wind sensors also offer integrated WMO-compliant gust wind measurement, calculated from a rolling average, where the gust period is user selectable between 1 and 10 minutes. All WindSonic anemometers transmit an instrumentation status code alongside the measurement outputs to confirm correct operation.  

    Output protocol options for WindSonic include RS232, RS422, RS485, SDI-12, NMEA, 0-5V or 0-20mA 

    Environmental protection to IP66 across all WindSonic models.

    Ultrasonic technology is used in WindSonic wind sensors to deliver highly accurate measurements with no moving parts to wear or recalibrate making WindSonic products extremely reliable and low maintenance.     Wind (v1.14-1) is a PC application which can be used to configure Gill wind sensors.

    Compatible Products
    The Wind application is compatible with the following products:

    • WindSonic (serial numbers 08100001 or higher)

    In addition the Wind application can be used as a terminal emulator to configure the following products:
