Gills’ anemometers helping environmental monitoring at power stations

gill-instruments-anemometer-power-stationsMonitoring and measuring the environmental conditions around power generation plants is an essential function around the world and is usually tightly controlled, to minimise any impacts on the environment and those living within its vicinity.

As part of this continuous monitoring, it is essential to have accurate wind speed and direction information making it possible to determine the direction and range of emissions from the plant at any time.

Gill Instruments, in collaboration with their partners in Hong Kong, PTC, have installed a WindSonic sensor to the cooling tower of the Taiyan Gujiao power plant and a Windmaster Pro anemometer on the monitoring mast of a nuclear power plant in China.
