New MetPak Pro Weather Station Launched

MetPak Pro measures the most essential weather parameters with the additional capability to connect up to four external measurement devices.

Gill Instruments Ltd, a world leader in ultrasonic anemometers and compact weather stations, has launched MetPak Pro – a new multi-function professional weather station with the ability to connect up to four external measurement devices. MetPak Pro is the first in its class to offer expansion of weather monitoring capabilities to match the user’s exact requirements.

The weather station features an ultrasonic wind speed and direction sensor, barometric pressure sensor and temperature/humidity probe as standard, with a PRT input for an external temperature sensor, a digital input for an external rain gauge and two analogue inputs suitable for a variety of sensors, including but not limited to a water level sensor, pyranometer, pressure sensor or soil temperature sensor.

MetPak Pro is compact and lightweight with no moving parts, reducing the maintenance overhead often associated with mechanical weather stations.

The system features a rugged U-bolt clamping mechanism suitable for attachment to any vertical pipe from 25mm to 50mm diameter, so installation is simple. An external junction box is provided to allow simple connection of external measurement devices. Accessories include power, data and USB configuration cables.

MetPak Pro is supplied with MetSet configuration software and MetView display and data logging software. MetView provides a simple and convenient means of viewing recorded weather data with the information logged for future review.

The launch of MetPak Pro follows the successful launch of the MetPak II weather station in early 2010. The first public demonstration of MetPak Pro will take place at Meteohydex in Geneva, Switzerland from 23rd – 25th May 2011.
