ABOUT GILL INSTRUMENTS

An independent British manufacturer. Forty years in the making.

Gill Instruments was founded in 1984 by Mike and Lesley Gill in Lymington, Hampshire, with a simple goal: to make wind measurement more reliable by removing the parts that break. That meant eliminating mechanical sensors and using ultrasonic technology instead.

Forty years later, Gill is the market leader in ultrasonic anemometry. Products are designed and manufactured in Lymington and sold to customers across meteorological agencies, renewable energy operators, marine and offshore engineers, aviation authorities and defence organisations in over 150 countries.

Gill Group comprises four businesses: Gill Instruments (wind sensors and weather stations), Gill Sensors and Controls (industrial and motorsport sensors), Gill R&D (engineering consultancy) and Labcal (UKAS-accredited calibration services).
