WBGT tells you how stressful the environment is. TWL estimates how much work can be sustained safely. The GMX552 calculates both onboard.

Wet Bulb Globe Temperature

Onboard WBGT calculation to ISO 7243:2017, up to 70°C. Derived or true measurement, with an optional wet bulb sensor for increased accuracy. It tells you how stressful the environment is.

Thermal Work Limit

Onboard TWL calculation in watts per square metre (W/m²), added via the latest firmware. It estimates the safe, sustainable work rate for the prevailing conditions.

Why measure both?

Different industries and regions specify different approaches to heat stress monitoring. WBGT remains the global benchmark for occupational heat stress assessment. Thermal Work Limit is increasingly specified across mining and heavy industry, particularly in Australia and the Middle East.

New firmware update
