Gill Year in Industry Students make Regional Finals

Gill is proud to announce that 2 Year in Industry placement students have been shortlisted as finalist in the Engineering Development Trust (EDT) South East Regional Finals for their contribution to business.

Gill students, Harriet Brien and Tom Wall successfully made it through to last month’s semi-finals of the Contribution to Business Award, where Harriet was recognised for her inspiring work on the project to improve test coverage on Gill Instruments latest product release, MaxiMet.

Tom, who has been working on a project to greatly reduce the time to process test data using Excel Macros , has also made it through to the Regional Finals taking place on Thursday 25th June 2015, where he hopes to become one of only 8 students chosen for National Finals in September.

As proud supporters of the EDT programme, the Gill Group is now in its third year of participating in the scheme, which places over 30,000 young students into Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematic placements each year. We are extremely pleased with all our students and are delighted to take on talented young people. We will continue to work closely with the EDT to grow our Year in Industry placements.
