OIL DEBRIS SENSOR

WearDetect

Oil debris sensor with a separate electronics enclosure.

WearDetect captures ferrous wear particles in the oil and reports fine and coarse debris separately, alongside water presence and oil temperature. The electronics sit in a separate enclosure, so the sensing point needs little space and the measurement feeds an existing PLC, SCADA or condition-monitoring system.

BEFORE YOU SPECIFY

Is the WearDetect the correct configuration?

Before specifying, confirm:

  • the measurement or level range the application needs
  • the output and interface the receiving system expects
  • the fluid or medium and its effect on the sensing surface
  • the environmental sealing the installation demands
  • the mounting arrangement and available space
  • any approval or certification the application requires

If those match, the WearDetect provides that configuration.

QUESTIONS

Specification questions about the WearDetect

What is WearDetect?

WearDetect is an oil debris sensor for continuous condition monitoring of oil-lubricated machinery, with a separate electronics enclosure that feeds an existing monitoring or control system.

What does WearDetect detect?

It captures ferrous wear particles with a magnet and reports fine and coarse debris separately.

What does it not detect?

It targets ferrous (magnetic) wear debris, so non-ferrous wear is not its measurement. Use it alongside oil analysis or vibration monitoring where non-ferrous wear matters.

How does it differ from WearDetect with Display?

The sensing technology is the same. WearDetect has a separate electronics enclosure and feeds an external system. WearDetect with Display integrates a local display so the reading can be checked at the machine.

How is it installed?

As a smart sump-plug replacement using a thread adaptor in the drain port, or inline in an oil bypass circuit. Thread adaptors cover metric, UNF, BSPP and NPT drain ports.

Where can I find the datasheet?

The current datasheet is WearDetect issue 11. It is linked in the Documents panel on this page and on the datasheets page.
