For over 40 years, we have designed and manufactured ultrasonic wind sensors, weather stations and environmental measurement technologies from our UK headquarters, trusted in environments where failure is not easily tolerated.

Our instruments operate globally across sectors including renewable energy, marine and offshore, aviation, defence, industrial automation, motorsport, meteorology and environmental research. In 2025, we were honoured with a King's Award for Enterprise for Outstanding Short Term Growth in International Trade, recognising continued demand for British-engineered sensing technology worldwide.
Our ultrasonic expertise helped shape the modern wind measurement market, setting standards for low maintenance and long operational life. Products such as WindSonic helped establish ultrasonic wind sensing as a practical, low-maintenance alternative to mechanical technologies across global markets.
That same engineering philosophy continues across the Gill product portfolio today.
Our products are designed to withstand demanding environmental conditions including saltwater exposure, temperature extremes, vibration, heavy rainfall, dust ingress and hazardous industrial environments. This focus on durability and operational stability has made Gill technologies widely adopted across industries where dependable environmental data is essential.
By prioritising robust design principles, our ultrasonic sensors help customers minimise downtime, reduce maintenance intervention and improve long-term reliability in the field, particularly in remote or difficult-to-access environments where operational continuity is critical.
Engineering, production, calibration and quality assurance are all under one roof. If a product cannot be validated under the conditions customers are expected to operate in, it is not released for production.
This integrated approach provides greater control over quality, consistency and product performance throughout the development and manufacturing process. That proximity allows engineering, manufacturing and customer support teams to work closely together, solve problems quickly and maintain high quality standards across the product lifecycle.
It also creates something harder to manufacture than sensors: long-term trust. Many of our customer relationships span years, even decades. Not because switching suppliers is difficult, but because reliability tends to be remembered.
CNC machining and rapid prototyping capabilities to move quickly from concept to working hardware.
In-house PCB manufacturing and precision electronic assembly across our own production lines.
Purpose-built environmental chambers and pre-compliance EMC testing to validate products before they reach the field.
Dedicated precision assembly lines maintaining strict tolerances and quality standards at every stage of build.
A UKAS-accredited high-speed wind tunnel on site for anemometer calibration and performance validation throughout production.
Calibration systems covering liquid level, liquid flow, gas flow, pressure, temperature, humidity and air velocity.
Extreme temperatures. Saltwater exposure. High vibration. Heavy rain. Dust ingress. Hazardous areas. Remote installations where maintenance visits are expensive and downtime is unacceptable.
Gill technologies have supported Ministry of Defence programmes since 2010, while our ultrasonic fuel flow measurement technology became the homologated standard within elite motorsport categories including Formula 1 and the World Endurance Championship.
Across each sector, the requirement remains the same: accurate, dependable measurement over time.

The world is becoming increasingly connected, automated and dependent on accurate real-time environmental data. We exist to make that data dependable through robust engineering, proven measurement capability and technologies designed for long-term operational reliability.
Recent product developments such as TruMet and MetConnect reflect this continued focus on modern environmental monitoring, designed for connected infrastructure, autonomous systems and real-time operational monitoring.
As operational environments become increasingly data-driven, the demand for accurate environmental intelligence will continue to grow. We remain focused on developing technologies that help customers monitor conditions more effectively, respond faster and operate with greater confidence.
That is what we have been building since 1985. Engineering designed to perform where it matters most.
