MULTIFUNCTIONAL TFT WIND DISPLAY
See the wind. At a glance.
Clear, live wind data where decisions are made.
A professional display for wind speed, direction and gust information from compatible Gill wind sensors, designed for marine, meteorological and industrial applications.
- Live wind at a glanceSpeed, direction, variation and maximum gust
- Marine or meteorologicalPort/starboard or N-E-S-W notation
- Direct NMEA connectionNo extra interface, and it powers the sensor
- Daisy-chain a second displayThe same wind data in two places, see the specification
The measurement problem
Wind measurement is only useful if someone can see it
A sensor might be doing its job perfectly, but if an operator has to search for the information, interpret a data stream or work out what a number means before acting on it, some of the value of that measurement has already been lost.
The TFT Wind Display is designed to make the important information immediately apparent, showing real-time wind speed and direction alongside direction variation, maximum gust and selectable 2- or 10-minute averaged wind speed. Wind speed can be displayed in m/s, knots, km/h, mph or Beaufort, while the display can be configured for marine operation using port/starboard notation or for meteorological applications using the familiar N-E-S-W format.
That makes the display the final, highly visible part of the measurement chain. The sensor measures the wind. The display makes the measurement useful.
Live speed and direction
A three-digit wind-speed readout and 0-360° direction with directional variation.
Gust and averages
Maximum gust indication and selectable 2- or 10-minute averaging.
Marine or meteorological
Port/starboard notation, or the familiar N-E-S-W format.
Direct NMEA connection
No additional interface, and the display powers the connected sensor.
Choose your display
Two displays, one difference
Both give a local readout from a Gill wind sensor. The difference is where the display is going.

Multifunctional TFT Wind Display
For a shore, industrial or fixed installation needing a local wind readout.

Wind Display Marine
For a vessel or marine platform installation.
No single Wind display does all of that. Our team can suggest a pairing.
Choosing the sensor
The display sits downstream of the sensor choice
Choose the wind sensor for the application first. The display then puts that measurement where people can act on it. Confirm the specific sensor and display configuration before ordering.

General-purpose ultrasonic wind measurement
- Covered by current Gill connection guidance
- Confirm the WindSonic configuration and NMEA setup against the connection guide

Where higher specification matters
- Higher specification, marine or hazardous-area requirements
- Also covered by current connection guidance

Integration
Designed to work with the sensor, not compete with it
The TFT Wind Display is intended to sit naturally within a wider Gill wind measurement system. When a compatible Gill sensor is operating in NMEA mode, the display can receive the wind data directly without an additional interface, while also providing power to the connected sensor.
A second display can be daisy-chained where the same wind information needs to be visible in more than one location. This keeps the architecture simple: choose the wind sensor for the application, then put the information where people need to see it.
Without the information overload
The live value shows what is happening now, the averaged value gives a clearer picture of prevailing conditions, and the maximum gust shows the peak the system has experienced.
View the specification →SD-card logging
For applications where the data also needs to be retained, SD-card logging is available on the OMC-140-SD configuration.
Read the SD logging supplement →Connection guidance
Current Gill documentation includes connection guidance for WindSonic and WindObserver. Confirm the configuration before ordering.

Made for places where wind matters
The application may change, but the requirement is remarkably consistent: make the wind data clear enough to act on.

Questions
Frequently asked questions
What does the Gill TFT Wind Display show?
The display shows real-time wind speed and direction, direction variation, maximum gust and averaged wind speed.
Which Gill wind sensors can connect to the display?
Current Gill support documentation includes connection guidance for WindObserver and WindSonic. The precise compatibility depends on the sensor, display and configuration, so this should be confirmed before specification.
Does the display need a separate interface?
When a compatible Gill wind sensor is operating in NMEA mode, the display can receive the data directly without an additional interface.
Can I use two displays with one wind measurement system?
Yes. The display can be daisy-chained to a second display so that wind information can be viewed in more than one location.
Does the TFT Wind Display measure wind itself?
No. The connected Gill wind sensor performs the measurement. The TFT Wind Display receives that information and presents it clearly to the operator.
Is the TFT Wind Display suitable for marine applications?
Yes. Gill identifies marine applications for the display, including installations where clear wind information is required and port/starboard notation is useful.
Can it be used for cranes and construction?
Yes. Gill identifies construction and crane applications where wind conditions need to be visible to operators.
Can the display work with WindSonic?
Current Gill documentation includes WindSonic connection guidance. The specific WindSonic configuration and NMEA setup should be confirmed against the relevant connection documentation.
Can the display work with WindObserver?
Yes, current Gill documentation includes WindObserver connection guidance. The specific sensor and display configuration should be confirmed before ordering.
