GAS ENGINE IGNITION MODULE

GS12 Ignition Module

A robust, solid-state inductive ignition module for gas engines from 1 to 12 cylinders, with up to 3,000 microseconds of continuous spark duration.

GS12 is the largest module in the range, for engines of all horsepower and sizes, low or high speed, with up to two coils per cylinder. Timing can be adjusted globally, by individual cylinder or with five load-input maps, set up in the free Windows-based software.

THE DIFFERENCE

What makes the GS12 different

GS12 has the widest cylinder coverage in the range. It shares spark duration, timing maps, software and features with GS8, and adds trigger options for more engine types, including A3 and A5 conversion kits, the GM distributor timing kit, drilled flywheel patterns for wasted spark on 4-stroke engines, and 2-stroke engines.

BEFORE YOU SPECIFY

Is the GS12 the correct module?

Before specifying, confirm:

  • the number of cylinders, up to 12, and coils per cylinder, up to 2
  • the spark duration the engine and coils need
  • the trigger method, including OEM disc, A3 or A5 kit, GM distributor kit or drilled flywheel
  • whether the engine is 2-stroke or 4-stroke
  • whether the engine needs individual cylinder timing or load-based 3D timing maps
  • the 12 or 24 V DC supply available

If those match, the GS12 provides that configuration.

QUESTIONS

Frequently asked questions

What is the GS12 ignition module?

The GS12 is a robust, solid-state inductive ignition module from Gill for gas engines with 1 to 12 cylinders. It delivers 500 to 3,000 microseconds of continuous spark duration, supports up to two coils per cylinder and is set up with free Windows-based software.

Which engines does the GS12 suit?

The GS12 is used on gas engines of all horsepower and sizes, low speed or high speed, with 1 to 12 cylinders. Its trigger options cover 4-stroke engines, including wasted spark from a drilled flywheel pattern, and 2-stroke engines.

Which trigger methods does the GS12 support?

The GS12 can take its timing from a single pickup, an existing OEM disc and pickup, an A3 or A5 conversion kit, a GM distributor timing kit, a drilled flywheel pattern for wasted spark on 4-stroke engines, or a 2-stroke engine trigger.

What is the difference between the GS12 and the GS8?

The GS12 and GS8 share the same spark duration, timing options, software and features. The GS12 covers up to 12 cylinders against 8 for the GS8, and lists additional trigger methods for more engine types.

How can GS12 timing be adjusted?

GS12 timing can be adjusted globally, by individual cylinder or with a set of five load-input maps, in 2D (speed) or 3D (speed and load). The maps are set up and customised in the Windows-based software.
