Five questions for Chris
Tell us a little about what you do at Gill.
I help the very busy Greg and Dave to make sure that any IT equipment is working as it should, in spite of Microsoft trying their best to do the opposite.
What excites you most about Gill and your role here?
There is always something to do and it’s not normal things, I’ve spent a few hours trying to get an operating system running on a new device that went out in the 90’s so we can test some legacy equipment, it can be frustrating but it’s something I thoroughly enjoy.
What’s one thing that makes Gill a good place to work?
The People here a really friendly and helpful and always willing to give you time if you need it
What’s the most useful skill you’ve picked up in your career, and did you expect to need it?
Patience, I wasn’t expecting IT to be something that would require so much, I thought it was a fast moving industry but sometime you are ground to a halt working on a single IT issue for longer than expected.
Tell us something about yourself that might surprise us.
I once abseiled down a church for charity, while I was supposed to be at work in 7Bone in Bournemouth, it was the same church that Mary Shelley is buried in (I did have permission from the boss to leave work to do this).
