WindMaster for wind turbine site assessment
Before erecting a wind farm it is important to assess the amount of wind available over a prolonged period. Wind turbine sites are invariably financed on the basis of a return on investment, and this calculation requires extensive information on how much wind will be available all year round. Errors in this prediction can have an enormous effect on the amount of electricity produced and the viability of the investment.
Large towers are often erected with many anemometers mounted at varying heights to collect data. It is important that the correct anemometers are selected at this time, as the data produced by the survey must be accurate and comprehensive in order to accurately assess the site.
Why Gill
Gill’s anemometers are extensively chosen for projects in the wind energy market due to our reputation for high quality, easy installation and above all, for our solid-state construction, which offers huge advantages over other mechanical instruments as they require no regular maintenance. The WindMaster / WindMasterPro are accepted worldwide due to their high accuracy, high output rate at 20Hz or 32Hz. All Gill anemometers also provide an automatic quality message, giving confidence that data received is valid and can be trusted.
