MARINE WEATHER STATION

MaxiMet GMX560 Marine

Marine weather measurement with heading correction.

GMX560 Marine is the full-parameter member of the MaxiMet Marine range, adding temperature, humidity and pressure to the wind-only GMX260 Marine. Like GMX260 it carries the 6-axis compass and the additional IP68 sealing that the Marine models have and the rest of the MaxiMet range does not.

The MaxiMet GMX560 Marine is the appropriate configuration where the requirement is wind speed and direction, air temperature, humidity, atmospheric pressure, and the parameters it does not carry are provided elsewhere or not needed.

MEASUREMENT

What the MaxiMet GMX560 Marine measures

The MaxiMet GMX560 Marine is configured to measure wind speed and direction, air temperature, humidity, atmospheric pressure. The MaxiMet GMX560 Marine does not measure rainfall or solar radiation.

Wind0 to 60 m/s, ultrasonic, no moving parts

HEATING

What the heating option actually does

Heating on the MaxiMet range is transducer-only and draws around 7 W. It keeps the ultrasonic transducers clear, and it is not equivalent to the full-sensor heating offered on WindSonic M or the WindObserver range.

Where the application involves severe or persistent icing, that is a WindObserver requirement rather than a MaxiMet one.

BEFORE YOU SPECIFY

Is the MaxiMet GMX560 Marine the correct configuration?

Before specifying, confirm:

  • the parameters the application actually requires
  • whether wind is needed at this location or measured elsewhere
  • the operating temperature and whether heating is required
  • the ingress protection the installation demands
  • the mounting arrangement and available space
  • the interface and output the receiving system expects

If those match the specification above, the MaxiMet GMX560 Marine provides that configuration at 0.7 kg.
