WindSonic monitoring at stadiums

Sports fans worldwide do not wish to see play stopped, delayed or even cancelled due to weather events especially as some sporting events are only periodic and some tickets can be expensive and so this has spawned a new breed of stadium with a retractable roof.

Monitoring

Retractable roofs require weather monitoring so that, firstly the operator knows when to open / close and secondly whether it is safe to move the roof as often the roof section will need to hang off to one side of the stadium. Wind is the minimum parameter to be monitored for safety reasons, however, other parameters including rain are added as required.

Installations

WindSonic has been used worldwide to monitor wind speed at stadiums including: 
