GMX603 is the current top of the compact MaxiMet range and replaces GMX600. Its rainfall measurement uses the TruMet infrared optical technology built in rather than as an add-on, giving 5 per cent or better accuracy across 0 to 200 mm/hr.

HEATING
What the heating option actually does
Heating on the MaxiMet range is transducer-only and draws around 7 W. It keeps the ultrasonic transducers clear, and it is not equivalent to the full-sensor heating offered on WindSonic M or the WindObserver range.
Where the application involves severe or persistent icing, that is a WindObserver requirement rather than a MaxiMet one.
